Statement of Faith

Our Beliefs

The Trinity – We believe there is one God, and that He is eternally existent in three persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

The Father – God the Father is the Creator and sustainer of all things, and created the universe in love to respond to Him. He created man in his own image for fellowship.

The Son – Jesus Christ is eternally God. He was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning and through Him all things were created. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, preformed miracles, died on the Cross for humankind and, thus atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit  - The Holy Spirit was given to the church in fullness at Pentecost. He empowers the saints for service and to be witnesses and cleanses man from the old nature and conforms us to the image of Christ. The baptism with the Holy Spirit releases the fullness of the spirit and is evidenced by the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Bible – We believe that the Holy Bible containing the old and new testaments is in its original writing, the inerrant, infallible, inspired word of God. The authority of the scriptures is source of all doctrine, instruction correction and reproof. It is the guide for all conduct.

Salvation – We believe salvation is a free gift of God, based on the merits of the death and physical resurrection of His Son, and is appropriated by faith alone. We believe that true saving faith is differentiated from intellectual assent (even demons believe James 2) by repentance that manifest the fruit of turning from sin and totally trust our lives to the Lord Jesus.  We believe when we accept Him as Lord and Savior we are regenerated and born again by the Spirit of God.  Salvation is a gift from God, not the result of our good works or of any human effort.   When we receive Christ we are justified and declared free from sin and righteous before God.

Redemption - We believe humanity was created good and upright, but by temptation of Satan, fell from grace and brought sin upon mankind. Humanity’s only hope for redemption from sin is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The Church – The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Holy Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great Commission. All who repent and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior from the body of Christ. He is the head and we are the members.

The Kingdom of God – We believe that through Jesus the kingdom of God/Heaven of has been brought into our present realm in a spiritual sense.  The Kingdom of God is the rule of God over our hearts and lives.  We refer to this as the “kingdom now” which Jesus proclaimed and demonstrated.  The kingdom benefits are received by believing on God.  Jesus brought the presence of God’s kingdom into our present needs.  We also believe in the “kingdom yet to come” which means that the full benefits of God’s kingdom will not be fully and absolutely realized until the kingdom physically comes to earth.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is manifested in the believer in a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the Resurrection, and preach the gospel throughout the entire earth.  All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives.

Satan and Demonic Hosts – We believe that Satan, originally an angel, rebelled against God, taking a host of angels with him. He was cast out of God’s presence and established a kingdom of darkness and evil on the earth which he rules as “prince of this temporal world” He was defeated and his power curbed at the cross, but he is not totally destroyed until he is bound and thrown in the lake of fire.

Heaven – Heaven is the dwelling place and throne of the Father. It is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in Jesus Christ.

Hell – Hell is literal and the eternal dwelling place of unbelievers.

Rapture, End Time and Second Coming – We believe that 1 Thess. 4 and 5 teach a rapture of the church prior to the great tribulation on the earth.  At the end of the time of tribulation Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom and bring about the final defeat of Satan and the demonic host. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.

Sanctification – Sanctification is being set apart as holy before God and for his purposes.  It is also the ongoing process of appropriating the character of Christ by trusting in Him the power of His Holy Spirit and renewing our minds through the Holy Word.

Water Baptism – Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in the water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a tangible expression of what takes place in the heart. It identifies a believer as a follower of Christ.

Communion – The Lord’s Supper is a unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and juice (the body and the blood of Jesus) are partaken of in remembrance of all the benefits provided to us by his death on the cross.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit – We believe all true believers receive the Holy Spirit when they are regenerated and baptized into Christ, 1 Cor. 12:3  They are sealed by the Spirit guaranteeing their eternal inheritance, Eph. 1:14.  We believe that believers should be aware of the need to be subsequently filled with the Holy Spirit for empowerment like Jesus.  Jesus promised the coming Spirit to empower believers as witness.  Given initially at Pentecost, The Holy Spirit was sent by Jesus after His Ascension to empower the church. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to any believer who earnestly desires it.
